Update Day 11: Thursday 6.30.11

Last day in a mess-free, squeal free, booger free house so I opted to work from home today and for dinner we went out for sushi and a movie!!! Of course I didn't anticipate being out so late so I ended up doing my daily exercise at 1:30am. But I did it. So I haven't failed the challenge yet.

Day 11 Stats..

Exercise: 20 minutes abs
Healthy Choice: No snacks at the movies and had water with dinner
Weight Change: -2.4 lbs
Measurement Change:
  • Waist = -1/2 in
  • Hip = -1/2 in
  • Thigh = - 1/2 in

Update Day 10: Wednesday 6.29.11

My kids have been gone to Grandma's house since Sunday and the laziness has officially settled in. I was 100% motivated to clean my house, run errands and get organized last week before they left. I had great hopes for my "summer break". But, instead,  the minute they walked out the door all I wanted to do was veg on the couch and watch TV. And now the laziness has weaseled its way into Pants vs. Pie also. I haven't cooked or washed a dish all week. All we've done is eat out every night and now I'm feeling dieters remorse.

Day 10 Stats..

Exercise: 20 minutes treadmill
Healthy Choice: No cheese on my Chipotle Burrito Bowl
Weight Change: -2.4 lbs
Measurement Change:
  • Waist = -1/2 in
  • Hip = -1/2 in
  • Thigh = - 1/2 in

Update Day 9: Tuesday 6.28.11

I cheated and took my measurements again this morning just to put to rest the theory that my tape measure is deceitful. The measurements hold, same as Sunday. So... I have decided to reject the idea that my tape measure is lying and adopt the only other logical reasoning that I in fact can defy the rules of physics. Which is great, because with my new found powers I can finally fulfill my lifelong dream of being a super hero. I'll be working on my cape later today.

Day 9 Stats...

Exercise: 1 hour of vigorous cleaning in my bathrooms and kitchen. I know I know, this may not seem like exercise on the surface, but trust me, it was. I even broke a sweat. And it's my challenge anyway... so there.
Healthy Choice: Skipped dessert at dinner
Weight Change: -2.4 lbs
Measurement Change:
  • Waist = -1/2 in
  • Hip = -1/2 in
  • Thigh = - 1/2 in

Things that make you go "Hmmm"

So here is a conundrum... why is it that the tape measure said I lost 1/2 inch on my waist, but when I went to button my pants today I could barely get the button to the hole? How on earth was I getting them buttoned when my waist was a 1/2 inch bigger?

Stupid lying strip of plastic.

Update Day 8: Monday 6.27.11

The first week is behind me and I'm re-energized by seeing some progress. Of course I remember now why I haven't owned a scale in nearly 10 years... I can't stay off the stupid thing. I get obsessed with the number, how low can I get it today???? It's probably not doing my mental health any favors, but we can deal with my psychosis another day.

Day 8 Stats....

Exercise: 20 minutes crunches, leg lifts and push ups (still recuperating from this past weekend, hoping to get back to cardio tomorrow)
Healthy Choice: Fruit and veggies for breakfast lunch and snacks.
Weight Change: -2.4 lbs
Measurement Change:
  • Waist = -1/2 in
  • Hip = -1/2 in
  • Thigh = - 1/2 in

Update Day 7: Sunday 6.26.11

The moment of truth. The day we've all been waiting for. An event seven days in the making. Can I get a drum roll     ....................................................... 
A new episode of The Glades premiers on USA Network! OK, just kidding, well it does, but that's not why we are here. It's the official end of week 1 of Pants Vs. Pie and I took my weight and measurements today. I actually bought a scale too, the first scale I've owned since college.

Day 7 Stats:

Exercise: 20 minute Pilates and 10 minutes stretching
Healthy Choice: Fought the urge to have a snack around 10PM last night and worked out even though I really really really didnt' want to
Weight Change: -2.4lbs
Measurement Change:
  • Waist = -1/2 in
  • Hip    = -1/2 in
  • Thigh = -1/2 in

Not a huge change in weight and measurements but a change none the less. I'm marking week 1 as a WIN. One small step on the scale, one giant leap for my butt!

Update Day 6: Saturday 6.25.11

Not much to update today, spent the day at Six Flags Over Texas. And when I say, we spent the day, I mean we spent the whole day. We left Plano at 8:15AM and got back at 10:00PM. Does voluntarily subjecting yourself to obscene g-forces count as exercise??

Oh... and for those who were wondering, The New Texas Giant = Pretty Frick'n Awesome!

Day 6 Stats:

Exercise: Six Flags. nuf said.
Healthy Choice: Only ate lunch at the park and drank primarily Powerade and water. No snacks!!
Weight Change: TBD
Measurement Change: TBD
